an actionable way to think about building confidence
i have constantly fluctuated between being proud of my style and having no idea how i want to dress throughout my life.
i’ve found a stable state where i have a better idea of how to understand what i like, and what makes me feel confident. a lot of it has come from trial and error but also from a few things i’ve just tried out randomly.
fashion impacts so much in our daily lives. from comfort to time management. being confident in how you present yourself means making easier decisions when it comes to preparing yourself for the next day or showing up for yourself in daily life.
the reason i wanted to write about this is that the more i’ve felt out of touch with my style, the more that it grows and builds anxiety in my mind.
so often we attribute confidence to an internal element you just “have” or don’t have. it’s more than that to me. you can’t just flip a switch and get confidence. you have to build it up over time but understanding how you want to express yourself and what vehicles (like clothes) help you get there.
