getting myself together
let's go through it, step by step
it’s been a long time since i’ve gone through all the different facets of my life. i mean taking a good look at what is serving me or not. sometimes, we just don’t need to do this. we don’t need to audit ourselves.
lately something has been calling to me to get a few things in order.
when i started the 75 hard challenge last january, i put together a series of things that i wanted to do to prepare myself for the challenge. i’m convinced going through those steps again will be a great way to go through the motions. i may even add in some new reset items. we can literally go through this journey together, if you want.
a bit of housekeeping. i recognize that i have a lot coming up for myself the next few months. i want to be present in those moments while also providing good newsletters to you. so from this week onward you’ll be hearing from me every other week with one extra paid version a month. here’s the rough schedule:
23/02/23: how to recognize when you need a reset & what matters
09/03/23: setting motivation & productivity techniques to focus on what matters
23/03/23 (paid): preparing your Q2 quarterly reset on notion
06/04/23: building a new & sustainable fitness plan
20/04/23 (paid): rebuilding routines and adapting when life gets hectic
04/05/23: sorting your music & podcasts
18/05/23 (paid): discovering your style
01/06/23: organizing your calendar while going with the motions
hopefully these topics interest you. i’m really hoping we can go through them each month together.
when i created my notion template for the quarterly reset program, a big goal of mine was that i needed a recurring deadline to check in with myself that wasn’t arbitrary. it needed to have a generalized meaning. this way i can look forward to it without thinking too hard about it. for example, using quarters to track my goals and feelings works for me because i naturally know that the end of march leads into the next quarter.
the type of reset that i’ve outlined above may not be something you need right now. but i challenge you to think about areas of your life that just don’t feel right, in your gut. i firmly believe that at different points in our lives all the elements i listed above come into play and it’s really nice to have some kind of loose plan around them.
here’s some things to ask yourself:
what areas of my life am i doing things becuase it feels like i should instead of feeling like i want to?
what’s the best thing i could be doing for my health that i can’t bring myself to do?
what drains me lately?
what recharges me lately?
what is the favourite part of my day?
having a general idea of these questions for yourself can lead us into a really mindful and intentional approach to the activities we are going to discuss in the next few months.
